Actress Denise Dowse, best known for roles in "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Insecure" among many other film and television credits, has died. She was 64 years old.

This information has been shared by his sister Tracey through her Instagram account.

Denise Dowse recently fell into a coma, caused by a severe form of meningitis.

Her sister first shared the news of Dowse’s health condition via her Facebook on August 5.

Dowse's screen-acting career spanned the 1980's. She is best known for her recent role as Dr. Rhonda Pine, a physician in "Insecure".

She also had a recurring role in "Beverly Hills, 90210" as Vice Principal Yvonne Teasley, appearing in 24 episodes of the Fox series.

Born on February 21, 1958, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dawse graduated from Norfolk State University before beginning her screen acting career.

Dowse's major film credits include roles in "Bio-Dome," "Starship Troopers," "A Civil Action," "Ray," "Coach Carter" and "The Call."

She was also a regular guest star in television series over the past thirty years with appearances in "Seinfeld," "Full House," "Murphy Brown,"  "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Chicago Hope".
